Remembering Ourselves: A Practical and Radical Guide to Self-Care

Self-care has entered public conversations and social media discussions now more than perhaps it has ever before.  Many healthcare professionals, therapists, and positive talk television and radio show hosts are praising the merits of self-care.  While self-care seems simple on its surface, in order to practice authentic and lasting self-care, we must uncover and address the barriers to self-care that create challenges around preventative care and self-love.

A book for wide and diverse audiences, Remembering Ourselves is rooted in life experience and years of research with the goal of helping readers achieve true personal freedom and wellness, however they define it for themselves.   With engaging and reflective exercises and personal storytelling, Remembering Ourselves is a beacon of light for those who struggle with prioritizing their own self-care, as well as a helpful guide for those who are looking for a deeper conversation around health and wellness.

Self-care is often the center of the conversation when one’s health has gone downhill.  Instead, this book advocates for proactive self-care, particularly for women, people of color and other marginalized communities whose historical and present-day circumstances create unique challenges to lasting and effective self-care.
